Our History – Our Philosophy
The roots of the original K-Active taping method date back to the year 2000. It was at the Olympic Games in Sydney that Siegfried Breitenbach - now the managing director of K-Active and a member of the German Olympic team - first became deeply involved with kinesiological taping. Fascinated by the potential of this method, he wanted more: not just to apply it, but to understand it. His journey took him to Japan to Dr. Kenzo Kase, the founder of kinesiological taping. There, he was trained as a Kinesio Instructor and laid the foundation for the further development of the method - as one of the pioneers of "Kinesio Taping" in Europe and around the world.

As kinesiology taping gained prominence worldwide, K-Active was right in the thick of it. Not as an observer, but as an active shaper of the field. With an international network of up to 50 instructors at times, the K-Active training system was established in many parts of the world. From Europe to Africa and Latin America to India and Eastern Europe: whereever medical teams were looking for structure, quality, and a systematic approach, K-Active was there.
From Pure Technique to a Holistic System
In the early years, when the company was still known as Kinesio Deutschland, the first structured taping concepts were developed, initially heavily influenced by their Japanese origins. However, with the international success of taping and growing experience, it quickly became clear that taping should not bew viewed in isolation. Through intensive collaboration with a steadily growing international team of doctors, therapists, and sports scientists from a wide range of disciplines, the holistic K-Active taping concept was developed. Inspired by its Japanese origins and expanded through medical, functional, and sports science knowledge. Structured into a self-contained system.
Training Expertise in Elite Sports
K-Active´s expertise is also trusted in international competitive sports. For example, the British medical team received intensive training ahead of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in London. In addition, renowned teams such as FC Barcelona, Chelsea FC, and the Bundesliga club Werder Bremen have relied on K-Active´s expertise to bring their medical teams up to the highest standards.

Our courses are systematically structured and enable you to develop your skills in kinesiology taping in a structured way. Masterclass 1 forms the foundation and is a prerequisite for all advanced modules as well as our special courses.
