Blackroll® - The sporty aid for connective tissue and muscles
Weakened and agglutinated connective tissue can lead to painful muscle stiffness in the long run. Fascia rolls from Blackroll® have been available in practices and fitness studios for several years and are also used diligently at home by athletes for regeneration and prevention. The so-called fasciae include the soft tissue components of the connective tissue, such as ligaments, tendons and firm connective tissue layers. Over time, fasciae can stick together and in the long run lead to injuries, but also to reduced athletic performance. Regular massage with a fascia roller helps to loosen stuck fascia, prepare muscle groups for training and mobilise joints.

How does the training with fascia rollers work?
To loosen sticky fasciaes, it is enough to train once to three times a week for 5 to 10 minutes. Results can be seen quite quickly. If you stay on the ball and integrate fascia training into your sports program, you can expect better stability and improved movement sequences after just a few weeks.
Exercise for the back
Lie down on a mat on the floor. Now take the fascia roller and place it under your back in the area of the thoracic spine. Now slowly roll up and down. If a spot is particularly painful, you should roll over that spot very slowly a few times.
Exercise for the knees
Knee pain is often associated with glued fascia. Lie down with the front or back of your thigh on the fascia roller and roll slowly from the hip bone to the knee or from the buttock to the knee and back. Repeat this exercise several times on the front and back.
Exercise for the hip
Sitting for a long time (e. g. in the office) often leads to a one-sided strain on the ligaments, cartilage and joint capsules. One consequence may be the adhesion of the fascia. To bring relief, a workout with the Blackroll® is recommended. Sit on the roll with your buttocks. Place the leg of the side to be treated on the thigh of the other thigh and slowly roll up and down. Repeat the exercise on the other side.
Why are Blackroll® fascia rollers available in different degrees of hardness?
The different degrees of hardness of the fascia rollers are necessary because people have an individual sensation of pain and a different strength of the connective tissue. As a beginner, you should start with the hardness level “Soft” or “Medium”. Soft fascia rollers are mainly used in yoga and Pilates. A workout can already be quite intense, depending on how pronounced your pain is. The soft fascia roller is about 20% softer than the medium degree of hardness. The medium fascia roller is the standard model and is used in sports and therapy. Hard fascia rollers are about 50% harder than the standard model. They are suitable for professional athletes and athletes.
Which Blackroll® surfaces are available?
Blackroll® rollers are available with a smooth and fluted surface. Beginners should first get used to training with the smooth surface. This is already very intensive. The corrugated surface is even stronger in its effect and has a particularly activating effect.
