Fascial Distortion Model according to Typaldos

The Fascial Distortion Model (=FMDI) is a new and effective method for treating pain in the musculoskeletal system. This method was developed by the American doctor for Emergency Medicine S. Typaldos D.O. and enjoys great popularity.

The treatment can assist in:

  • Shoulder pain (e.g, impingement syndrome, frozen shoulder, PHS, osteoarthritis, rotator cuff rupture)
  • Elbow and wrist pain (e.g, tennis/golfers elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome)
  • Back pain (e.g. herniated disc, lumbago, sciatica, osteoarthritis of the facet joints)
  • Hip pain (e.g. osteoarthritis, SI joint-blockades, enthesitis)
  • Knee pain (e.g., patellar tip syndrome, twisting of all kinds, torn cruciate ligament)
  • Foot pain (e.g., sprains, torn ligaments, stretched ligaments)
  • Sports injuries of all kinds and much more

Where does FDM come from?
Stephen Typaldos D.O. worked as a physician/osteopath in an emergency department. He realized that his patients present their problems over and over again by specific descriptions and gestures. He then developed a unique diagnostic approach in which the specification and body language are an integral part. This specific diagnosis leads then to a matched therapy. The new diagnosis and therapy concept is more promising than most conventional treatment methods. It is presumed that the pain and dysfunction of the body is caused by various connective tissue (= Fascia distortions). This leads to a fullness of new approaches to treatment of various diseases. Many diseases of the musculoskeletal system, which were difficult to treat, or very slowly healing, a recovery can be significantly accelerated by FDM.This knowledge is being used very successfully in professional sports. Thanks FDM, for example, a supination trauma can walk again after only 2-3 treatments without the necessity of an immobilization for several weeks.

Level 1, part 1: Upper extremity

  • History and development of TMT
  • Anatomy and function of fascial structures
  • theory of the 6 distortion patterns
  • Diagnosis of body language
  • Palpation of tissue tension and release of pathological patterns
  • Practical treatment of upper extremity
  • Syndromes: PHS, frozen shoulder, impingement, epicondylitis, M. Sudeck, and much more

Level 1, part 2: Lower extremity

  • Discussion of the common treatment faults
  • Repetition of the theory
  • Pathological changes in the fascia
  • Treatment of lower extremity
  • Treatment of pelvic misalignments
  • Syndromes: pelvic misalignments, piriformis syndrome, sciatica ailment, supination trauma, patella tendonitis and much more

Level 1, part 3: Spine and jaw

  • Treatment of Spine and jaw
  • Syndromes: Cervical spondylosis, lumbago, spine blocking, TMJ syndrome and lots more
  • Entrance requirements: Participation on part 1 or 2

Level 1, part 4: Typaldos Cranio

We present exclusive recordings of Stephen Typaldos D.O. at his work with FDM. There are 24 hours of footage and it offers the possibility for every interested person to study the founder of the method at his work. The highlights are shown, respectively. A further element of the course is the FDM treatment in the cranial area. The six known distorsions have to be found and treated.

  • Entrance requirements: Participation on part 1 or 2
